What is the awareness course in Geneva?

The awareness course is a mandatory 8-hour course for anyone wishing to obtain their driving licence in Geneva, whether for the car licence (category B) or the motorcycle licence (categories A and AM). It’s an essential step to complete before you can sit the practical driving test.

Contrary to what you might think, this course goes well beyond a simple administrative formality. It’s designed to sharpen your awareness of road risks, build defensive, responsible driving habits, and highlight dangerous behaviours such as alcohol, drugs, fatigue and distractions behind the wheel. In short, it prepares your mindset as much as your driving technique.

At NonStop Drive, the course runs in small groups of 12 participants maximum, over 2 to 4 days depending on your availability.

Prerequisite: to take this course, you must hold a valid learner driver permit. This document will be requested at every session.
